Through my abstract drawing project: Queer Sublime, I am unfolding the collective trauma and terror that exists underneath the queer body, confronting the homophobic repression and violence from the heteronormative society, and making sublimity out of unspoken queer feelings.

My deployment of using classical modeling technique hatching/cross-hatching is a mode of queering Abstraction, and an existential act of transcending the complexity of queer suffering. Through thousands of mark-making of layering colors and tonal modeling, I am creating a place for contemplation and consolation, reconstructing the sensitivity of queer emotion and expressing the uniqueness of queer spirituality.
